The Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS is a vast improvement over my garmin 301 and 201. the heart rate counselor really does work unlike my 301 that failed with in a month or two. I am a avid trail runner. many of my training runs involve canyons and forested areas. I have yet over loose a signal during my runs. I recently completed the pike’s pinnacle ascent using my garmin 305 and noticed that i subdued ended increase with issues dealing with the switch backs. the garmin was .38 tenths away for the total distance, no, non- over poor for the number of switch back. as for the heart rate monitor, it works well and is confortable, but scheduled over my poor experience with the heart rate counselor on the garmin 301 my vote is subdued out on it’s long term use.
