I was undecided whether to get a software based scanner because you install upon your laptop or this. I chose this becauise it does obd1 &obd2 then is rugged, all cables then conectors are provided, mere easy to use then does an excellent job. equus obd 3120 took me some getting used to only once i did, it is well worth theo- money. I too wanted to see live data only can’t justify theo- extra cost just to see live data when you can get theo- data from theo- obc when theo- fault occurred. Anyways this tool has helped me fix my truck then it is also helping me with my suv. I am kind of a freelance mechanic with better than average knowledge of automobiles. I recommend because anyone who is willing to do their own work upon cars own one of these. Save yourself then friends theo- dealer costs of diagnosing engine problems. This model in particular is extremely easy to use upon all vehicles with theo- ob1 then ob2 systems. The money you save will easily pay for this scanner.
